Babysitting Certification

Child and Babysitting Safety

Earn your babysitting certification from Frontier Safety and Supply. Our 4-hour in-person Child and Babysitter Certification programs are offered regularly at Frontier Safety and Supply’s Anchorage training center. We train using the HSI (Health and Safety Institute) nationally recognized CABS (Child and Babysitting Safety) program that is designed for teens and pre-teens interested in learning the basics of babysitter safety.

We practice hands-on skills including changing diapers, preparing bottles, CPR, AED, EPI-pens, assisting the choking infant and child, bleeding control, tourniquets, glove removal, and much more. Learn fundamental information: what is a babysitter, thinking like a babysitter, starting a business, preparing to babysit, handling challenging behavior, communication skills, safety on the job, caring for the kids, meeting basic needs, handwashing, hygiene, food preparation, diapering, appropriate playtime, naps and bedtime, recognizing hazards, taking proper steps to ensure safety, when to call for help, calling 911, poison control center, and much more.

The book includes an “Orientation” form to help the babysitter and parents with the initial tour of the home and answering the right question before the parent leaves the home. Course topics include the business aspect of babysitting such as finding client and talking with parents about money.

Our unique training style includes a tag-team method of an adult and teen instructor to provide both a parent and an experienced babysitter perspective.
